Service riser shafts, Plant Rooms and ventilated car parking areas are often excluded from the tested airtight perimeter of the building and as a consequence there is often a need to airseal the service penetrations where they penetrate floor slabs Fastight Airmortar has been specifically developed to radically improve the degree of airtightness of multiple service penetrations between floors and can in certain circumstances be capable of taking foot traffic for maintenance purposes. Typical situations where Fastight Airmortar can be used are as follows: (1)Service penetrations in floors leading to sub-floor plant area (2)Penetrations and voids in floors above ventilated car park areas Fastight Airmortar is a fast setting gypsum mortar. As a consequence the system also has excellent fire protection and acoustic properties. Fastight Airmortar has been independently tested for airtightness by Building Analysis and Testing – a UKAS accredited test facility and was found to provide an excellent barrier to the passage of air.
